Cayuga Medical Associates was a collaborative project working with an existing programming document. The document provided guidelines for designs of the space. The existing facility incorporated space planning three different departments: Dermatology, Endocrinology, and Rheumatology. These different departments require certain spaces and amount of spaces including exam rooms, offices, nurse rooms, and facility rooms.

The main themes presented in the design include "efficient circulation" and "controlled interaction." These two themes are critical in creating a successful medical facility that supports patient and staff interaction while maintaining key elements like flow and privacy between all users of the space.
